Frequently asked questions

Do I need prior experience?

No. Our Beginner track covers tool safety, gentle cleaning, and simple stitching. We welcome complete newcomers.

What tools are required?

A basic kit—utility knife with fresh blades, stitching awl, needles, waxed thread, edge beveler, contact adhesive suited for footwear, and PPE (gloves, eye protection, appropriate mask for fumes). Each course lists a concise tools checklist.

Are the courses self-paced?

Yes. Lessons are designed to fit into 30–45 minute practice blocks. We encourage breaks and slow, careful progress.

How do you handle safety?

We emphasize ventilation, skin protection, correct adhesive handling, and careful knife techniques. We do not provide medical advice; our content focuses on safe workshop habits.

Can I restore sneakers as well as leather boots?

Yes. Our Sneaker modules cover midsole glues, paint flex, and gentle cleaning for mesh and knit uppers.

Is there a certificate?

You receive a DetachaVox learning record upon completing module quizzes and practice submissions. It reflects participation and skills demonstrated; it is not an academic credential.

Do you offer refunds?

Refunds are available within 14 days if less than 20% of the course content has been viewed. See full terms for details.

How do I get accessibility support?

Email [email protected] with your access needs. We can provide captions, transcripts, and step-by-step photo alternatives in text format.

Can I get business advice?

We offer practical modules on pricing repairs, time estimates, and client communication. We do not make income guarantees.
